Although my Dad took me to the Picasso exhibition at the Tate Gallery in 1960, I painted this in March 1958, when I was still thirteen. I must have been inspired by books and prints my Dad had of cubist paintings. Although still mainly interested in rock ā€˜nā€™ roll at this time, I had discovered Gerry Mulligan.
